Tokyo, Japan- June 28, 2021: Bridgestone Corporation, a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner is pleased to announce the revelation of the first official game of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), The Pegasus Dream Tour, launching on iOS and Android, registration opens today with the global launch set on the June 24, 2021. As the first partner of The Pegasus Dream Tour, Bridgestone is committed to helping the IPC engage new and younger audiences to increase awareness and popularity of Paralympic sports.

As first partner, Bridgestone have unique activation within the game and support the IPC and JP Games in their launch efforts. This project, like all Bridgestone activities related to its Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partnerships, aligns with the company's global "Chase Your Dream" message, which encourages people to overcome obstacles and persevere in pursuit of their goals.

JP Games Inc, the game development studio founded by Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, reveals the first official game of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), The Pegasus Dream Tour, which is just 99 days (from June 24, 2021) away and will allow the world to enjoy the Paralympics in an entirely new way.

 

The Pegasus Dream Tour is a massive avatar RP takes place inside "Pegasus City," an online virtual city that upholds the IPC’s diversity and inclusion values, and where the individuality of each person is respected. This ultra-positive and energetic Pegasus City also serves as a testing ground for building the ideal future. The game aims to enable people from all over the world to enjoy the Paralympics in an innovative way by allowing them to gather inside Pegasus City with friends at a time when during the current situation visiting the actual sporting venues is physically difficult. Part of the profits generated by in-game items will be donated to the Agitos Foundation, the leading global organization that develops sports activities for people with impairments as a tool for changing lives.

    

Illustrated by renowned Japanese artist GODTAIL, nine of the world’s top para-athletes will be featured in-game as their own character avatars and will be able to interact and compete with players, including five para-athletes who are contracted by Bridgestone, the first sponsor of The Pegasus Dream Tour.

Chaiwat Rattana (Athletics Wheelchair Racing / Thailand)

Among these nine world’s top para-athletes, there is one representative from Thailand. Chaiwat Rattana, a Thai national wheelchair racing athlete who was born with disability that left him living in a wheelchair. He always had a strong passion in sports while working as a clerk. After years and he still had not lose his passion, so he decided to pursue his passion and dream as a wheelchair racer. With many years of training, Chaiwat has proved to himself that nothing is impossible by winning a gold medal at the Asian Para Games 2018 in the men’s 100m event. Nowadays, Chaiwat is currently training to compete at the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, where he hopes to represent the country and win his first Paralympic Games medal.
